Rabbi Eric Yoffie, the past-President of the Union for Reform Judaism wrote an op-ed in Haaretz arguing that Israel is not an issue in this election:
When Americans, Jews among them, are deciding for whom to vote, there are plenty of differences between President Obama and Governor Romney….
Really? He’s a friend to Israel, sorry, I must have been living in a cave these last three and a half years because let me tell you something Obama is about as pro-Israel as I am for stricter gun laws, or letting all illegals become legal. Obama has not been a friend to Israel, or did I miss that whole 1967 borders stuff. Did I also imagine how the Obama administration disrespected the Prime Minister of Israel on multiple occasions? Was I asleep when the Obama administration said that Tel Aviv was the capital of Israel? No.Obama’s administration does not believe that JERUSALEM is the capital of Israel, even though it is. No Mr. Romney on the other hand.
Obama is no friend to Israel, never has been. He gave away millions of dollars to Gaza, who needs humanitarian aid like I need gum underneath my shoe. He won’t fight for American Jews anymore. Are you people blind?
You know what I take it back. I wasn’t the one hiding in a cave these last 3.5 years and I wasn’t asleep. But you sure were.
And I won’t even bother addressing the rest of the stuff in this post, mostly because I’m tiered of reiterating my views on matters of gay marriage, the economy, etc.
